Sport Specific Training
Competition in the world of sports has become more and more fierce. Furthermore, players have become increasingly specialized in their roles as athletes. These changes have occurred in a short span of time and traditional training methods are often substandard. Ultimately, specific training methods are required to optimize performance.
COASTherapy's staff is comprised of athletes from many realms. They are experts in biomechanics and have the ability to analyze the specialized demands placed on athletes.
Many of our Physical Therapists are also Certified Athletic Trainers and/or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists which gives them the tools and background to develop the attributes needed for success in the individual's sport /role. In addition, our therapists are well versed in common athletic injuries. Athletes who participate in Sport Specific Training at COASTherapy will not only improve their condition in a safe and efficient manner, but they will gain the added benefit learning techniques to prevent re-injury.
Transitional Gym Program
The transitional gym program was created to enable our patients to independently continue with their therapeutic exercise programs, after their "physical therapy" is completed. We have found this beneficial as it decreases the likelihood for recurrence of injury and patients find it beneficial because they are familiar with the equipment and surroundings.
Personal Training
For those patients who desire one-on-one guidance and instruction, we have personal trainers on site. Our trainers are experienced and well educated and many of them work directly with our therapists. Having a trainer who understands the patient and their pathology is beneficial. Having a trainer who communicates directly with the treating therapist is absolutely invaluable.
